My arts background lies in commercial art, studying in North Queensland Australia, and going on to work as an in-house graphic artist for the Australian Health Commission. Since leaving nine years ago my work has become far more experimental and expressive.

The beauty and diversity of Galloway mixed with memories of Australia provides me with constant inspiration. The use of locally grown materials combined with willow, paper, silk, felt and stone connects my work with the surrounding landscape and provides a feast of textures and colours to 'play' with. My work varies from traditional and contemporary basketry, processional puppets, large living and dried sculptures, textile hangings and garments.

Working as a Community Artist is also a major aspect of my work. I feel encouraging Artistic expression is very beneficial on numerous levels and is a positive way to improve health and well being, I have been involved in a diverse range of projects involving people of all ages and abilities. Although my main skills lie as a maker I have experience in street performance and have worked on and co-ordinated projects combining drama music and film.
